Telehealth Psychiatric Care

Quality Mental Health Care—Wherever You Are

At Horizon Mental Health & Wellness PLLC, we believe accessing quality mental health care should feel comfortable, convenient, and private. Our telehealth appointments allow you to meet with your psychiatric provider through secure video visits from the comfort of your home or another private location—without the commute, waiting room, or disruption of a traditional office visit.

Whether you're seeking help for the first time, looking for a psychiatric evaluation, need ongoing medication management, or want continued support for an existing mental health condition, our goal is to make getting care as straightforward and supportive as possible.

A clearer path forward starts at the Horizon.

What Is a Telehealth Appointment?

A telehealth appointment is a scheduled psychiatric visit conducted through secure video technology. Instead of traveling to an office, you connect with your provider remotely using a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer with internet access.

Telehealth can be used for many of the same services that would normally take place during an in-person psychiatric appointment, including comprehensive evaluations, follow-up visits, medication management, symptom monitoring, treatment planning, patient education, and coordination with other members of your healthcare team when appropriate.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Before your first appointment, you may be asked to complete our new-patient registration, psychiatric intake, medical and medication history, screening questionnaires, telehealth consent, privacy forms, and other appropriate documents.

During your initial psychiatric evaluation, your provider will take time to understand you—not simply your symptoms. We may discuss your current concerns, psychiatric and medical history, previous treatments, current and past medications, sleep, lifestyle, family history, substance use, stressors, relationships, and your personal goals for treatment.

From there, we will discuss an individualized treatment plan. Depending on your clinical needs, this may include medication management, behavioral and lifestyle recommendations, therapy recommendations or referrals, laboratory or medical follow-up when appropriate, and ongoing psychiatric appointments.

Medication Management Through Telehealth

When medication is clinically appropriate, your provider can discuss medication options as part of your treatment plan. We believe medication management should be collaborative rather than simply prescribing a medication and sending you on your way.

Follow-up appointments allow us to evaluate your response to treatment, monitor symptoms and potential side effects, review adherence, make clinically appropriate adjustments, and determine whether the treatment plan continues to meet your needs.

A telehealth appointment does not guarantee that medication—or any particular medication—will be prescribed.Prescribing decisions are based on your individual evaluation, clinical appropriateness, safety considerations, and applicable federal and state requirements.

Preparing for Your Appointment

For the best experience, choose a quiet, private location with a reliable internet connection. Have your identification, insurance information if applicable, current medication list, pharmacy information, and any relevant medical or psychiatric records available.

Because telehealth regulations generally depend on where the patient is physically located at the time of the appointment, we may confirm your location at the beginning of each visit. Services are available only where Horizon's treating clinician is appropriately authorized to provide care.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Your privacy matters. Horizon uses appropriate telehealth systems and administrative practices designed to protect your health information and maintain confidentiality.

We encourage patients to participate from a private environment whenever possible. As with any electronic communication, no technology can eliminate every privacy or security risk, and these considerations will be addressed as part of your telehealth consent.

Emergencies & Crisis Situations

Horizon Mental Health & Wellness PLLC is not an emergency service. Telehealth appointments, voicemail, email, text messages, and patient-portal messages should not be used for an immediate psychiatric or medical emergency.

If you believe you may harm yourself or someone else, are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, or need immediate assistance, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In the United States, you may also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Mental Health Care That Fits Into Your Life

Getting help shouldn't have to mean rearranging your entire day. Telehealth makes it easier to incorporate psychiatric care into your life while maintaining the personal connection, clinical attention, and individualized treatment you deserve.

At Horizon Mental Health & Wellness PLLC, our mission extends beyond treating symptoms. We want to help you understand your mental health, participate actively in your treatment, develop sustainable strategies, and work toward greater stability and overall wellness.
